Visakha Bouxa Ceremony 2009

Visakha Bouxa will be celebrated on May 9 and May 10, 2009.

Visakha Bouxa is an important holiday for Buddhists. It marks three key events in the life's of Lord Buddha: Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinibbana. It is a World Heritage Day as recognized by UNESCO.


Saturday May 9, 2009:

8:00 PM Evening chanting and worship of the Buddha.
8:45 PM Walking meditation with candle light.

Sunday May 10, 2009:

9:00 AM Gathering.
10:00 AM Pay homage to the Triple Gems, taking the Five and dedication of donations.
10:30 AM Offering of the food to the monks.
11:00 AM Lunch serve to the monks.
11:45 AM Sermon by the abbot on Visakha Bouxa.
12:00 noon Lunch for the congregation
